Fulfilling its titular namesake, we have a true vintage encapsulation of a Fender with this Fender Custom Shop '54 Telecaster Time Capsule in a sunny Wide Fade 2-Color Sunburst. This classy image of a retro-minded Tele comes together with hot pickups, custom dimensions, and a unique build for a wholly impressive Custom Shop model. This Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster starts off on the right foot with a unique build. A '52 Tele body is brought together with a two-piece, off-center ash body, sorted for weight. These two pieces are selected for their light weight, ensuring an easily handled body in total. In the body's assembly process, the two pieces of ash are brought together with an asymmetrical seam, making for a unique quality and an "off-center" design. This unique build is then decked in a NOS (New Old Stock) No-Buff Flash Coat Wide Fade 2-Color Sunburst lacquer finish and treated to the Custom Shop's Time Capsule finish treatment. Time Capsule, Fender Custom Shop's lightest finish wear treatment, creates the presentation of a finish affected by nothing but time – untouched by playwear or damage.

At this point, we bring on a 5/4 quartersawn maple neck in a 1954 "U" profile. This neck, notably thick with that "baseball bat" feel, builds up even more with custom dimensions, where we're met with a thickness of .940" at the first fret and .970" at the twelfth. This is truly a neck for all you '50s fanatics who can't get enough of a full feel. Filling out to a fingerboard bearing twenty-one frets, this Custom Shop uses 6105 Narrow Tall fret wire. This fingerboard offers up great articulation with thinner, higher frets perfect for precise playing across a modern-feeling 9.5" radius. Micarta Black facedots and sidedots line the length of the board as fret inlays.

Sonically, this Tele drops in two hand-wound Twisted Tele pickups. Known for their brighter, hotter tonal profile, these Twisted Tele single-coils make for excellent companions for louder, prouder, higher-output sounds. These single-coils are harnessed through a Fat '50s Tele wiring setup for easy tonal sculpting. Backed up by a suite of reliable hardware specs, this Custom Shop Tele features a Tele 51-54 bridge, Vintage-Style tuning machines, and a narrower bone nut. This setup enables effortless playability while an included Fender Custom Shop Strat/Tele Tweed hardshell case makes travel an afterthought.

Interesting take on the genre

True rating: 3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well. Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on. Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc? However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy. Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book. Overall ratings: Plot- 3.5⭐️ World building 3⭐️ Spice 2.5 🌶🌶 Main characters 4 ⭐️ Supporting characters 3.5⭐️

You see one spicy scene the whole book but it doesn’t even MATTER BECAUSE THE BOOK WAS THAT GOOD. I’ve read 85 books in 2023-2024 so far and I’m pround to say this is my all time favorite.
